Day #3
We wanted to post a brief update. Croft is still in stable condition. She seems to be in some pain from the surgery but they have been managing it with medication. While the surgeon was fixing the Duodenal Atresia yesterday, he also had to re-arrange her large & small intestines. She had Intestinal Malrotation which means that some of her intestines were twisited. It's pretty amazing that the surgeon was able to do all of this laproscopically. They hooked her up to a ventilator after the surgery to help her breath since she was heavily medicated. The doctors think that they will be able to take her off of it today at some point. All of her vitals are still great and her stomach is not swollen. It will take some time for her stomach to recover so in the mean time they will be feeding her through an IV. The next hurdle will be for her to be able to be fed through the mouth which could be a few weeks. Shipley & I are going back to the condo in Denver today.
